The 2020-2024 Gender Equality Plan is the fourth of its kind to be published at the UOC. This Equality Plan has not only been constructed in a participatory way, but has also been based on an evaluation of the previous 2015-2019 Plan, and on three diagnoses that analysed the state of gender equality in the various areas of the University (2018), in the communicative context (2021) and in the working environment (2021).
The UOC's Equality Unit has coordinated the production of this Plan, which contains more than one hundred measures in five strategic areas, in order to address all the challenges identified.
This action plan and the terms of the diagnoses on which it is based were approved by a Negotiating Committee, with the participation of the workers' legal representatives, as stipulated in the legislation.
The COVID-19 pandemic broke out just as the document was approved by the UOC's Executive Board in March 2020.
The realization that the health crisis had exacerbated other crises, including that of gender inequality, made it abundantly clear that the new plan had to include measures that were able to tackle the specific pandemic-based needs of the UOC community.
