The Government of Catalonia awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives Aword for quality university teaching to LIS (Learning Intelligent System) project, designed to detect early dropout from online higher education studies, especially during the first year, and to intervene. This project was created by a multidisciplinary team of researchers led by David Bañeres, professor of Computer Science, Multimedia, and Telecommunication Studies, and professors Ana Elena Guerrero and M. Elena Rodríguez González. The Government also distinguished Mirela Fiori, professor of the UOC Law and Political Science Studies, with an individual award for developing teaching innovation strategies with social impact.
The Journal of Digital Information Society has awarded the category of Change Management in Public Administration (AAPP) to Quelic Berga, distinguished by its outstanding project “Folio: A Global Network of Students”, for its leadership and significant contribution in implementing innovative changes in the field of education.
The InnovaHiEd Academy has awarded the Lueny Morell Award for educational innovation in higher education to Quelic Berga for the project "Folio: A global network of students: Emancipation, socialization and professionalization of students through free portfolios", taking into account the context of the initiative, its educational and social impact.
The Government of Catalonia awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives Award for quality university teaching to Present@ project: the normalization of the video, led by Dr. Antoni Perez-Navarro and Dr. Jordi Conesa, professors of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunication Studies at the UOC, has received the distinction Jaume Vicens Vives from the Generalitat de Cataluña in recognition of university teaching quality. The Government has also distinguished Dr. Nizaiá Cassián Yde, professor of the UOC Studies of Psychology and Education Sciences, with the mention M. Embodying Sanahuja Yll for excellence in the inclusion of gender perspective in university teaching practice.
The Government of Catalonia awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives Award for quality university teaching to Maria Jesús Marco, a professor from the UOC's Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications, for its established track record and contribution to the improvement of the written communication competence, both academic and professional, of the engineering student through the design, creation and implementation of different resources, tools and methodologies in an online learning environment.
The UOC won four awards at the Transform Awards Europe: Gold for the Best Internal Communication, Silver for the Best Use of Audio Branding, Bronze for the Best Brand Architecture, and Highly Commended for the Best Visual Identity in the Education Sector. These awards recognize excellence and innovation in the creation and renewal of brands across Europe.
The Government of Catalonia awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives Award for quality university teaching to Teresa Sancho, a professor from the UOC's Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications, for her many years of hard work in the teaching of mathematics, her pursuit of continuous improvement in the planning and creation of online learning resources for maths courses, and her use of learning analytics.
The European Commission has awarded the UOC the distinguished HR Excellence in Research Award (HRS4R), a quality seal recognizing the University’s ability to attract talent, create a favourable work environment, encourage research and promote the careers of researchers in Europe.
Carlos Cámara Menoyo, researcher of the Urban Transformation and Global Change Laboratory (TURBA Lab) IN3 research group and Doctoral student at the UOC, has been awarded with the IND+I Science Prize in the metropolitan innovation policies category, given by Pla Estratègic Metropolità de Barcelona (PEMB).
