The future of artificial intelligence in education to be analysed at the UOC

What does the future of higher education hold? What impact will technology have on how we teach and learn? Will artificial intelligence end up replacing teachers? To discuss these issues and more, international experts on artificial intelligence (AI) applied to teaching and learning have set a date to gather at the UOC. This meeting will take place on 29 March during an event organized by the University and the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU).

The aim of this initial meeting on artificial intelligence in education is to explore different forms of collaboration among EADTU members, such as the creation of a working group on AI, university collaboration on research and innovation projects, and a potential exchange programme.

Guillem Garcia Brustenga, Director of Research and Trends Analysis at the eLearn Center, has been tasked with giving the meeting’s presentation; titled Learning bots and the University of the Future: “my teacher will be an AI (maybe)”, Garcia will cover the role of bots in university higher education.

The EADTU is the European network that brings online and distance-learning universities in Europe together. Its main objectives are to campaign for online and distance learning in Europe and to raise funds for innovative projects related to online education.
