Abstract

This presentation evaluates how the current interest in exploring book fairs has developed, placing recent scholarship in relation to consecrated works in the field, whilst also looking forward to those paths the future research may take. A perfect setting for discussing the challenges of my own research project: to put forward a socio-anthropological approach for studying book fairs and their social actors in the growth of the so-called Global Market.

(*García Naharro has shared 2 texts that will be discussed in the seminar. If you wish to participate in this discussion, please contact GlobaLS’ predoctoral researcher, Olivia Magaña Andaluz at omaganan7@uoc.edu or GlobaLS’ coordinator Diana Roig-Sanz at dsanzr@uoc.edu, for these)
