The UOC consolidates its commitment to Europe at the Forum of European University Alliances

On 12 and 13 June, the UOC will be focusing on open and inclusive higher education across Europe as it participates in the third Forum of European University Alliances, which will take place at the University of Wroc?aw (Poland). This event, organized by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education in relation with Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, will bring together academic, institutional and political representatives to address the challenges and opportunities facing European higher education.

Pastora Martínez Samper (UOC commissioner for international action, vice-president of the Spanish Universities in European Universities group and coordinator of the OpenEU alliance) will be a panellist in one of the forum's main sessions, focused on the European Degree. This initiative aims to establish degrees that are shared and recognized across Europe, based on transnational collaboration.

The forum will feature plenary sessions with experts in education, science and innovation, as well as meeting spaces focused on key issues such as educational innovation, international cooperation and a more integrated and transformative European Higher Education Area. Noteworthy sessions include those on impact and best practices, sustainable funding, and systemic transformation of higher education, with representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament and university alliances such as OpenEU. There will also be parallel sessions on strategic issues such as the European Degree, the role of students, and research and innovation.
