Fitó has a doctorate in Economics and Business Sciences from the University of Barcelona. She has specialized in fiscal, financial and accounting management, subjects that she has taught at a number of universities. Between 1995 and 2009, she combined her teaching with a professional career in the field of financial and accounting consultancy for small and medium-sized enterprises.
