The UOC-IBM Chair in Cybersecurity was created in 2016 to foster teaching, research, dissemination, innovation and technology transfer in the field of cybersecurity.
The Chair has a strong focus on research which is led by the IN3's KISON research group. This group has a solid track record of more than 15 years working in the field of security and privacy on networks.
In terms of teaching, the Chair offers support to the Joint University Master's Degree in Information and Communication Technology Security (UOC, UAB, URV).

Research
Promotion of research through collaboration in industrial doctorates, the funding of postdoctoral placements, the promotion of national and international meetings with experts in the field, and the proposal of competitive projects in national and European calls.
The research subject is cybersecurity, specifically in the fields of:
- Cognitive security
- Secure, reliable distributed models for transaction management: blockchain
- Security systems for the financial sector (eg secure and user-friendly authentication and authorization systems)
Research transfer, valorization, and dissemination
- Organization of workshops and professional seminars (eg UOC-Con conference)
- Promotion of dissemination conferences
- Increased publication in areas of interest
- Valorization of research results (patents and other products)
- Development of technological tools and concepts to enable transfer of research results.
Collaboration with lifelong learning, bachelor's degree and postgraduate programmes, as well as with the organization of summer courses.
