With its strong focus on internationalisation, the UOC encourages the academic mobility of its students and teaching and management staff. It has therefore made available diverse support, scholarship and grant services to allow them to receive part of their courses, placement or professional activity at another university, company or institution during the time that they are studying or working at the UOC.
The Erasmus+ programme is part of the "Education and Training in Europe 2020" and "Rethinking Education" strategies of the EU and is designed to promote international student mobility with placements for both training and work experience in companies.
Placements can be undertaken at universities that have the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) and with which the UOC has signed a mobility exchange agreement.
Among the mobility actions of the Erasmus+ programme, the UOC also participates in the traineeship modality.
The Erasmus+ mobility programme for learning allows students up to 12 months of mobility by sharing between education and traineeship, within the same degree course, and even after completion of the course.
The European Union allocates financial aid depending on the standard of living in the destination country as well as on the distance between the institution of origin and that of destination.
The Generalitat of Catalonia's Agency for Administration of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) runs a number of grant programmes for students and graduates to carry out international placements for studies or activities with academic recognition.
To participate, UOC students need to be part of a mobility programme or they need to undertake a placement within the scope of a bilateral mobility agreement.
