Make gender equality a key part of the UOC's research and innovation strategy
Strategic objective 1
Ensure gender parity and the gender perspective in the UOC's councils, boards, committees, and research and innovation teams
Actions:
- Analyse the make-up and selection criteria of the R&I governing units
- Single out any panels that should be updated to ensure parity
- Incorporate the gender perspective in the faculties' and research centres' research plans
Support women's progress throughout their academic careers
Actions:
- Provide UOC research staff with leadership training that helps them adopt the gender perspective
- Review, update and publicize the work-life balance policy for non-permanent principal investigators
Promote and draw attention to gender equality in research and transfer output
Strategic objective 2
Train and educate research staff so that they can approach their work from the gender perspective
Actions:
- Train research staff to work the gender perspective into their research
- Roll out measures to involve the gender perspective in projects submitted to competitive calls
- Draw up an awareness-raising strategy to familiarize research staff with the gender perspective and what it means for their work
Place the knowledge produced about gender at the UOC at the disposal of the entire community
Actions:
- Hold working sessions to decide how to turn knowledge about gender into measures that improve the UOC's internal policies or into best practices that can be shared with other universities
- Add the best practices arising from the conclusions of these sessions to the 2020-2024 Gender Equality Plan
- Design specific communication actions to disseminate the results of research on gender
- Create a collection of final projects related to gender in the UOC's O2 institutional repository
- Undertake a gender-based analysis of open access digital journals promoted by the UOC
- Promote the inclusion of new titles on gender, women, feminism and sexuality studies published by Editorial UOC
Promote gender equality in entrepreneurship programmes
Strategic objective 3
Train and educate entrepreneurs so that they involve the gender perspective in their projects
Actions:
- Locate and draw attention to materials that raise awareness of the gender perspective in entrepreneurship
- Familiarize the UOC community of entrepreneurs with the gender perspective
Include the gender perspective in activities aimed at fostering entrepreneurship
Actions:
- Employ gender-inclusive written and audiovisual language on the Hubbik website and in any outreach materials it publicizes
